A Movie, My Room & A Good Night’s Sleep!
October 29th, 2008 by Lou
Saturday night, instead of going to rehersal (and not calling or texting to say I’d be absent…bad girl!) I put on something nice and took my ex out to see Lakeview Terrace. Samuel L Jackson stars in it and there are some other familiar faces in it as well. I think it was produced by Will Smith, but I have yet to verify this.
**SPOLILER WARNING!**
Anyway, Samuel Jackson plays Abel, a widower and Los Angeles Police Department cop. He seems nice at first but as the movie progresses you catch a glimpse into how slightly demented (for lack of a better word he is). He seems to be a good father to his son (7 or 8?) and his angsty 15 year old daughter.
A married couple, a white man and a black woman, move in to one of the vacant houses. At first everything is okay but it becomes apparent to both of them that Abel has some kind of vendetta against them. At the very end when Abel is shot by some cops, it turns out when his wife died she was driving with her boss, a white man, when she supposedly should have been at work.
I guess he was dealing with both her loss and the fact that she may have been cheating on him. (With a white guy.)
I thought it was a good movie and Sam Jackson put on a very good performance. It also touched a raw nerve for me because I remembered the responses James and I got from black people, particularly black men. We would be in public holding hands and someone would yell, ‘I bet whitey can’t do it like me!’ or ‘I bet he has a 3 inch prick.’ Abel did say some things to imply that he disliked the idea of a white guy and a black woman together. But let me not go on anymore…
I’m in the process of cleaning my room. I have alot to do still but it’s coming along. My sink is clean for the first time in ages and there’s NOTHING under my bed! Maybe I’ll upload pics when I’m done.
And on a very happy note, I got a good night’s sleep both on Saturday and Monday night!
And before I go, here’s something to make you laugh:

I hope your room is bright and shiny now, teehee.
It’s good too, that you got a good night’s rest these past few days.
That video made me LOL!

I hate I didn’t get to see that movie, when it comes out I’m going to buy it.
I hate people like such. I understand anyone is entitled to their own opinion, but for the love of god I wish they would shut once in a while and notice their own ignorance.
Let me not get into a rant over that. Have fun cleaning your room, oh and that clip was funny, very funny.

That was such a good movie…Samuel knows he played that crazy character well…It’s a shame that people still act that way towards interracial dating…As long as a person is happy; it shouldn’t matter what race they date…dating has more to do with personality & fulfillment rather than color & people need to realize that…
