Motherhood.

October 7th, 2008 by Lou

*Sigh* When I see pictures like this I rethink my stance on becoming a Mother. Sometimes I think it wouldn’t be so bad to have a tiny, perfect mini version of me to take care of, to love and to nuture. I could hold my baby proudly and show him/her to the world because his/her birth was a great achievement for me. I don’t care what people say, carrying a pregnancy to term and giving birth at the end of it all is a big thing for any woman to achieve. There are doctors and nurses and family, but ultimately a pregnant woman is still pregnant by herself.

I’m sure in this pic she was showing her off to the zoo keepers and other onlookers, saying to them, ‘isn’t she perfect?’ She sure is. (By the way, black jaguars are not uncommon and if you look closely enough you can see her spots. And she’s black due to a birth defect but other jaguars don’t discriminate or anything.)

Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to have another creature’s life in my hands.

(This post is so ironic - my boyfriend and I broke up the other day and we used to talk about having children.)

No, being a mom is not so bad at all. :)

I’m sure it will happen when you’re ready, and I hope for you it will happen with the right man: a decent, loving man who would love you and respect you for who you are.

See to me the mother looks rather angry, probably at the fact that she has a small child following her around. Can you tell I do not want children? Not have a maternal bone in my body?

Sorry to hear about you and your boyfriend, but maybe it was for the best?

Your time will come and it’ll be a great experience.
That pic is adorable. You can see how protective she is.

Motherhood is one of the greatest gifts any woman can be “given”. My child makes me feel like I actually have a purpose in this world. Yeah, that might sound pathetic, but it’s the truth.

Also the black jaguar is gorgeous.

I’ve never wanted to have children but I have to admit whenever I see newborn babies and watch them develop I always get a little twinge. I dunno. I’m only 21 so who knows the future holds right?

That picture is completely adorable though. Beautiful animals!

Being a mother would be great, but I can barely afford to keep food on the table for my cats.. and they are nowhere near as picky as a child is. I figure if I’m meant to be a mom, it’ll happen in due time!

PS the picture is soooo cute!

I use to think I didn’t want kids until getting in touch with my body and having life be so close to ending for me that I was forced to realize procreating is the only real way to ensure living on the earth forever…
